Revert to classic Google image search in Firefox
Some might like it but I hate the new Google image search (screenshot). Fortunately here's a method of
reverting back to the classic Google image search in Firefox, by gettting the web browser to report a different version of itself to Google.
In the URL field, type about:config.. (screenshot)
Acknowledge Firefox's quirky warning..(screenshot)
In the about:config window, go to the Filter: field and type agent. Double click on the line which says general.useragent.extra.firefox.. (screenshot)
In the Enter string value window, replace the text by typing the following: Mozilla/2.0 (screenshot)
Finally click OK and restart the Firefox web browser.
This mod will make Firefox report itself as not newer than Mozilla 2.0, thus preventing some website elements to be sent to the browser on viewing, such as Google's annoying pop-out images.
To reset things back to how they were, repeat the first three steps above, right click on the general.useragent.extra.firefox line and select 'Reset'.
A Firefox update may also automatically revert this back. If so simply run the above process again..
Warning: This setting made my Facebook chat window (screenshot) disappear - chat is only available for later browsers. To stop FB getting fooled by this mod, run the 'reset' option above to revert back.
